The Center for Development of Vardar Planning Region on October 27, 2020 held the first workshop for preparation of the Program for Development of Vardar Planning Region 2020-2024, within the project “Sustainable and inclusive balanced regional development”, funded by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
The findings and the analysis of the specific needs in the Vardar planning region, the SWOT analysis, the definition of the vision and the determination of the strategic areas were presented at the workshop.
Representatives of the public, private and non-governmental sector from the municipalities of the Vardar region had their presentation on the current situation, challenges and opportunities for development of the relevant municipality in the following proposed areas:
– Strengthened potentials for regional development by investing in “solid” infrastructure
Economic development of the region through maximum utilization of the potentials for development of tourism and agriculture
– Environmental protection through increased use of renewable energy sources and investments in energy efficiency
– Strengthening human resources by improving the quality of education, health and social inclusive services in the region
– Retaining young people in the region by supporting entrepreneurship and the regional startup scene, the development of digital skills and innovation in the private and public sector.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
